My name is Claude Vogel, and I greatly appreciate your interest in my gallery. I am a French-American photographer currently located in Key West. Most of my work is about familiar objects captured at close distance, reconstructed using light and shadows to create a sense of peculiarity.
The series on houses, "Sematary", street photography, or wildlife provide context: Key West is very special.
Most images have been shot with medium format cameras: Fujifilm GFX (50R, 100, and 100s) and Hasselblad 907X-50C. A Sinar 4x5 has been in my backpack for over 15 years and was used for the landscape series. Most black and white pictures were shot on film with a Hasselblad 500C, and the "Violet hours" pictures were shot with my iPhone while walking Bijou.
When it comes to quick action, nothing beats a full-frame camera: Sony Alpha (A7III and A7RIV) and Nikon Z7II were the cameras used for the bird shots.
